throttle not opening all the way
had an issue with my throttle not wanting to open all the way, adjusting the pedal seemed to open it an extra 5-10% then it would just go back to barley getting the secondaries open. upon further investigation i found what is pictured below.
thinking JB weld and some tape, what you guys think?

sorry was joking there, was more of a cautionary tale for people that may be seeing some issues with their throttle also. looking under the dash the bracket covered just enough that i didnt see that until i i took the pedal assembly out.
there was only about 1 strand left and it was stretching so bad that every time the secondaries were engaging it would just stretch the cable further and create the issue i was seeing.
new lokar cable is in and works great now.

Hi K,
I agree with Mike… time to replace!
The throttle cable/linkage isn't something you'd want to fail in some way at an inopportune time!
Or leave you stranded.
Regards,
Alan
Just read your next post…. while JB Weld wouldn't be a suitable fix… POR15 would.

Thanks for the pic! Which Lokar replacement did you use?

the 69 had been a blower car and had a long throttle cable in a big loop on the non blower engine that did as yours did, if you are not purist correct I went with this, it was in the parts store so no mail order and waiting and cost less than all the others works great looks good,
My wife crawled in to help me as my back was out and boy did she say some colorful words and expressions about the gm designers....
Spetra...I guess not just for import tuners anymore....

Lokar TC-1000U 24" Universal Throttle Cable
exact one i bought
ended up cutting it down by over half its length and am also using a throttle bracket from jegs instead of the lokar one, works Perfectly.
