I am very curious to see what is the most popular Carb. for the C-3?
I have used Demon,Holley and Edelbrock all on the same mechanical set-up. My Edelbrock 600 provides the best performance and fuel economy of the three.
I would like to hear about any choices and why?
My next favorite (Other) would Have to be the Quadrajet (tuned properly).

Add Quadra-Jet to your poll list. Why should the most popular carburetor be aftermarket?

Q-Jet is my overall favorite. Then Holley.
I had a Lars tuned Q-Jet on my car for several years. It was dead on perfect, my car drove almost like a fuel injected car! It was the best driving carb I've ever seen. The Qjet was replaced when the 350 was replaced with 383 stroker with a demon. Later the demon ended up on the dart 400.
No good experiences with demon. Worst quality and even worse customer service at least in 2010-2011 when I bought mine. Company deserved bankruptcy.
My demon was screwed up by demon from the factory. The linkage jammed with the throttle open because one of the parts in the linkage was installed backward on the carb by demon. It also required a rebuild. Demon forgot to drill one of the venturi on a friend's 1000 cfm demon.
Finally the demon was fully sorted out and it drives very well. However it requires more frequent tweaking and rebuilding than any of the Q-jets I had.

I went from a new edelbrock 600 to a Holley avenger 670 which was used , after rejetting a few sizes up from stock because of a lean stumble and replacing a crumbled metering block it runs great now.. engine is a mild 375/400hp 355.
The edelbrock ran fine but the ethonal kept having a weird reaction with the aluminum causing a clear jelly substance in the carb.

Yes..the Rochester quadraJet is an excellent carb system for the 350..195 stock Hp I drive..NOt a simple task to overhaul or repair properly and the adjustments need to be understood and done properly..IF I had one criticism it'd be the float..Particularly for cars that have not been readied properly for winter/storage..long sitting..the original float can get loggy and unresponsiveEthanol inflicted gas only increases the problemm..Jim

Doing a "survey" without including the type carb that came on almost ALL C3 cars from the factory is baffling. Especially when that carb is the best overall carb in the lot EXCEPT if you want to do specific types of racing.

Important to write down the carb & #if original?...what changes if any to upper stuff..And order up the correct rebuild kit for the QJet.Jim

in blue, that is opinion especially since the OP included an "other" choice but even so please outline the reasons you feel that way about the qjet....

They are the same carb carter got them from weber who designed them and then sold the molds to edelbrock (They still say weber on them till this day) only difference is they are now cast in china and assembled in the states as far as Ive read but that could be wrong since I read it on the interweb.

My Edelbrock did the same thing. it eventually ate all rubber/plastic internal parts and had to buy new.

YEP..avoid any of the destructive Ethanol laced..fuels in ANYTHING you run that has such carburated..Not so bad to destroy the gas powered weed eater.. But find and pay for and use the EO, CLEAR or ethanol frees gasoline ..It's out there..Jim

Quick fuel holley clone.
I guess the falls under other.
Removed the Q jet when the stroker was installed. No issue with it but didn't know how to tune it.

The OE Quadra-Jet was an EXCELLENT carb, but unfortunately, it was A) tricky to set up properly; and B) has been out of production since the mid-1980s.
I was fortunate, living in the ROCHESTER, NY area, because I had a neighbor who worked as a "line technician" at Rochester Products, and was a "gear head" too. He was very good with both Rochester carburetors and Rochester FI units, and taught me some of the basics. However, the last time I worked on a carburetor was around 1992-93.........
Just remembered......"back in the day", my neighbor had a 1964 Chevelle Malibu, which he ordered with a 283 and 4 speed manual. Somehow or other, he got a Rochester FI unit "on loan", and put it on the Chevelle. Boy, did THAT wake up the little beast!!

Well unless of course they have done it 30 plus years and have published books on the subject....
