Well I took your advice and pulled the diff out today, passengers side YOKE can be pulled out of the housing

I will get it all cleaned up and pull off the cover and see if the clip has just come off and still inside or been ground up.

With any luck, the rebuilder forgot to install the snap ring and everything is just fine... With bad luck, you have a completely chewed up stub shaft and a lot of metal debris... Here's wishing you the former.

Pulled the cover off the diff and found a half round piece of metal very thin and made from stainless steel.

Its about 37mm across

Does not look like a clip to hold in the Yoke, any ideas ?

Found it stuck in one of the clutch springs !

The yokes don't use "clips." They use snap rings. Whatever is laying in your housing is not a snap ring. See my photo below and notice what the snap ring looks like laying next to the yokes:

You can see the snapring installed here:

Lars found the snap ring a the bottom of the housing as in the previous post and still in one piece.
The other piece of metal is a Pinion Depth Shim, which has come off after the snap ring came off the yoke
The yoke on the drivers side has two of these pinion Depth Shims in place now. Will get a picture and post soon
I am assuming you can use these to adjust the of slop between the spline and pinion shaft

The drivers side end has mushroomed from wear and want to remove it, whats the best way to grind down the burr on the end ?

The burr is very brittle material, so if you tap on the yoke at the u-joint saddles with a dead blow hammer the burr will shear off and the yoke will come out.
