Default Would there be any benefit of running a newer model Corvette cam in an older C-3?

Possibly one taken from a C-4,C-5 or a C-6? Would it be close to a direct fit? Would it be as good as an aftermarket cam?

depending on what your trying to accomplish an aftermarket cam is going to be better in every application. The c4 cams were mostly designed to work with tuned port fuel injection (or crossfire) and anything like 96 and up is LS I believe which is a totally different motor. there really is no "Better cam" just cams that are better for different applications... if your planning on putting this into a stock c3 car with stock gearing than a 262 or 268 cam is one of the better sized choices for performance without losing all your low end grunt.

Thanks for confirming.

I told a friend of mine looking for a "Cheaper" way out. I let him knowt that the engine is the WRONG place to pinch pennies, especially since the application would not work anyway.

I had a stock 76 l82 with automatic and used an Isky 264 mega cam with 214-214 @ 050, .450 ift on a 108 lsa. Really boosted low and mid range power. Had a nice throaty idle to it. Quality old school cam.

I guess the real question that needs to be asked is what C3 are we taking about carb or TBI? If it's a CFI you have to be careful with the cam selection with a stock motor. DO NOT stray far from the stock duration and you should be ok. The ECM will have a fit if you put a large overlap cam in a CFI. Good luck.

The cam has to match the engine,
if I slap a 327/350 cam in a later model low compression 305 it will hurt more than help....
