Default Angled or Straight plug heads for Doug's Side Pipes

Hey guys,

I currently have Doug's Headers Side Pipes on my 1979 Corvette. I'm buying new aluminum heads at the end of the month (NKB), should I be going for straight or angled plug heads?

Thanks

Did either of you use shorter spark plugs? Or they fit fine with normal length? It's a pretty tight fit on my stock heads right now with normal length plugs.

In the fine print:
Does not fit angle plug heads
I ran doug's headers with my angle plug Phase II Bowtie heads and needed a short plug. Recently switched to straight plug Blue Print heads and the clearance is much better even with standard length plugs.

Get a straight plug head if you have the choice.

Exactly the info I needed, thanks!

Did you get the h8200k blueprint heads? How are you liking them?

Yes, H8002K. Specs in my signature below. So far I like the fit and finish of the heads, haven't driven the car with these heads yet, but I am very, very close to doing so. Did the heads along with a roller cam and T56 conversion so it has been quite the project.

That's quite a nice build! Planning to get it dynoed when it's done? Or make a couple passes on the strip?

I've been eyeing those heads for awhile.

Yes, I just need to find a shop in my area with a Dyno and some experience. I'd love to take it in to get dyno'd and tuned after all of this work, then see what it runs in the 1/4. The drivetrain is all mostly fresh so I'd hate to ruin it with a bunch of nasty clutch drops so I probably will never run it as fast as it could really go in the 1/4.

I've been thinking the same. I can't really afford a beefy rear end and transmission for awhile, so when I do run the 1/4 it will just be to see what kind of MPH it will trap to give me an estimate of what it's capable of.
