alternator re-mount, for tall valve covers, 1973 BB w/ power steering
hi all,
hoping someone can help on here since ive been googling around for ages.
i'd like to re-mount my alternator further away from the valve covers for more clearance to get some tall valve covers in. chevy engine alternator low-mount kits seem to be readily available on ebay and stores but it doesnt look like it'd clear the power steering pump?
furthermore the PS pump bolts on to the same bracket that holds the alternator so that'd be another issue (but im sure i can sort that one out).
and also the stock bracket mounts the alternator away from the block (toward the front of the car), whereas the kits that ive seen seem to not allow for this (so it wouldnt line up)?
any help and advice much appreciated!
attached is a pic of the stock brackets with alternator removed.
car is 1973, 454 BB, w/ AC.
regards,
dan

thanks for the reply.
so i looked on their website and took measurements - the only one that was close is the "Low Profile" bracket they have.
i dont believe it will work, as it will put the alternator too far to the side, and the belt wont clear the control arm. also the alternator will sit extremely close to the radiator top hose.
i gave them a call but they dont have any other bracket that will suit.
any other suggestions?
