Post #56 is incorrect - it shows a TH400; the OP has a TH350 based on the oil pan picture.

Sorry for being late to the party. That tach is wacked out badly. The sub 1k reading when rolling out from a stop, the sudden surge in RPMs when accelerating further. It is just not right at all.

It would be really interesting to see an aftermarket tach's readings next to that stock tach. If you have a buddy with an extra tach laying around I'd say hook it up and zip tie it to your column there and see how you feel about what it tells you.

Gauges in these cars aren't getting any younger. I don't like inaccurate gauges at all so I replaced every one of my gauges with modern ones.
