ABS Light On After Replacing Front Brake Pads
Not a Corvette but thought someone could help. I replaced the disc pads on a 2006 Silverado. Now the ABS light is on. I did compress the Pistons without opening the bleeders. I then sucked the old fluid out of the master cylinder, filled with new fluid and opened each bleeder individually so new fluid filled the system. Brakes were last bleed a few years ago. I did make sure the brakes on both front wheels are locking and the wheels turning freely when released. Could the fluid being pushed backwards cause the problem?

Thanks everyone for your answers. The problem solved itself. As soon as I pull out of the driveway and onto the street the light went off. I restarted the truck later to see if the light would go off and it did. Do not know what the difference is between applying the brakes a few times in the garage and driving the truck, but grateful I did not ruin the ABS controller.

Burning Brakes
the sensors on the wheel bearings are notorious for problems. the plastic cracks and gets moisture in the coil, they bloat up, give bad readings, and can be impossible to get out. not a big deal, they get replaced all the time. even the new bearing hub comes with a new one already on it--it's pretty common on those trucks...

This is pretty normal... do to the fact your not bleeding the ABS system. Have this issue on RV's all the time. Usually will go away after a short drive. Occasionally you may have to clean the ABS sensor. They just pull out, clean with brake cleaner, add a dab of grease and replace. Just make sure the sensor end that faces the tone ring is clean.
