Pics of '74 bb a/c compressor bracket?
My a/c compressor with the bracket attached is tied to the inner fender to keep it out of the way. The previous owner tried unsuccessfully to reattach the bracket after a head swap. He said the bracket doesnt line up right and that sumpn is missing. I need to get this baby workin again. Please send pics of bb a/c bracket (i have the short compressor) and belt routing.

Do you mean the R4 compressor? If so, that's likely the problem. It should have the A6 compressor.
Belt routing would run from forward (3rd )groove of w/p around AIR pump (if still equipped) and A/C compressor.

I assume that the proper compressor is the long one. From what the owner was saying, this compressor was working fine until the head swap. Could be BS, I know. I guess I need to unwire it, position it and see how close it comes to fitting. I have a digital cam so I can get some pics to post.
