The compressor on my 1975 locked up. What is the best replacement?

New sanden style the best. Rebuilt A-6s don't have a great reputation.

I take it you have done the 134a conversion and still not 12?

Yes it's 134. When I had it converted and recharged it blew a hose. After that repair, everything worked fine until the compressor froze up.
