Check with GKull, he may have a fine example of what you're looking for.

Look under my threads that I posted:
1st. thread, New weld rims for my C3
2nd. thread, Pic upgrade of my 1300 + hp Vette

Weld 15 x 11 rims with M&H 325/50R15 Radials
Convo Pro 15 x 12 rims with MT/ET Street 28 x 13.5 - 15's, I also ran MT 325/50R 15 Radials on this rims.

When you get to big tires. It becomes how much money you want to spend

I took my big slicks to the shop where we did the flares and then mounted them with the rear up

I had bought two sets of rear flares kits. One that I went with was more heavy fiber glass semi mud flap

I can post pictures. But I use 335 ultra high performance tires on 12 inch billet aluminum rims

You have to put some thought into the whole rear end to limit vertical travel

I only have mid 600 Hp and use all Tom's stuff and a 520 lbs mono to keep the tires from rubbing the wheel flares on launch or turns

IMO - I tried some wide 15 inch tires and found the tall side walls gave me an uneasy feeling going around turns. 335 X 18 inch on 12 inch rims gives your the ultimate sports car grip when you buy the AA A high speed rated tires

The wheels on my '76 are 18x12 and 18x9.5 The back tire is a 335/30/18 and I am running stock trailing arms. Don't remember the back spacing but can find out if you want.
One thing I found out recently is that size is getting harder to find. I have Nitto 555 drag radials on the back and was wanting to try something different. There were no pilot sports to be had, and one place that claimed they had Perelli in stock wanted $800 each. The only tires I could find in that size were the Nitto 555's and the Toyo Proxy. I stuck with the Nitto since my fronts were still okay.
The flares I have from the vendor whose name shall not be spoken here and they do not have "mud flaps". I personally don't like the looks of mudflaps, but wish I did because those tires are sticky and wide and they throw unbelievable amounts of rocks and sand around. I have paint film on the bottom part of the flares to protect the paint. So if you like the mud flaps-good for you. It might make things easier.
I am not sure where you are on your build, but I would really recommend getting your wheels before you mount the flares. There is a bit of adjustment you can make as you mount them to get the spacing right. If it is not right, it will look really odd and you will be stuck with it.
Good luck. Hope it all works out for you. I really enjoy mine and I am sure you will also.

If you know the back spacing, that would be helpful.

Thanks a bunch.

Do you remember your front tire size Brent?
I'm wondering if it is possible to fit 295/50/15 tires in the front with 2" flares. Thanks.

One thing to think about is the Tire Diameter. These cars left the factory with 27" diameter and that's what the wheel wells were intended for. I am using a 345 30 19 this is a size that came on the Viper so they should be available for a wile. And yes, they are 27" diameter, and Michelin has them in both PS2 and SS along with other brands.

Good info. Back in the day, my 335/38/18 were viper tires.

Nice looking car what powers it? I was in ohio last year staying at a motel and that evening the lot filled up with Power tour cars. They were going to the mid Ohio road racing track the next day Looks like a fun event if you live in the central US.

I panted to front edge with bed liner epoxy paint to prevent chipping
