Will It Fit ?????????????????
I just bought a complete differential carrier assembly, strut rods and strut rod assembly bracket with adjusting cams and all hardware and leaf spring. All parts are in Very good shape. only problem is they come from a 1980 and my vette is a 1981. Will they fit and does anyone know how I can tell what rear I have? Is there any identifying marks or numbers on the rear I can look for. I paid $200 for all this stuff, the only thing it needs is new rubber supports at the end of the carrier. Thanks.

80-82 are the same, I do believe that the automatics came with a composite spring and the manuals had a 9 leaf steel spring. There was also an optional Gymkana spring that had 7 steel leaves.

Yes it will fit. It seems that the was only one ratio available in 1980 and that was 3.07:1. And it appears that that ratio is unique to 1980 for some reason.

Thanks guys, looks like I got a good deal. Can't wait to pick up the stuff and start cleanint it up. I just had my pinion seal replaced this summer and the repair shop told me they took some rather large chunks of steel out of my rear end, through the fill plug hole. Thanks again.
