1979 fuel line from fuel pump to carb
I have a 1979 and was putting the fitted fuel line on between the fuel pump and the carburetor (see pic of line). I noticed what looked like some teflon tape on the threads of the side going int the the fuel pump. Should I use teflon tape the threads. Thanks in advance.

Any bits of that Teflon that get loose and into the fuel will go right to the needle and seat. The first guy that used Teflon tape on those threads had, IMHO, the worst idea ever. That inverted flare was not made to need any thread goo to begin with. Everyone do as they wish. Just my $.02

Melting Slicks
The end that goes into the pump is a tapered pipe fitting and can benefit from a sealant. I would not use Teflon tape. As previously mentioned, it can break off and create havoc in the carburetor. I use a little Teflon thread sealant (comes in a tube). Usually used on stainless steel fittings. The other end that goes into the carburetor doesn't need anything on the threads as it is a flare fitting and the seal comes from the compression of the flare.
