1972 radio needs fixing
Hey guys,
Just wondering if you can point me in the direction of a good delco radio technician? My radio is complete and in good shape but I can't figure out it's issue.
Thanks for all of your time and info.
William

Have you done any troubleshooting? What is it not doing?

Well I took it to a guy that use to work on electronics. He said good news is there is no blown capacitors. Bad news he couldn't get the proper voltage. I believe he replaced the voltage regulator but not sure. Then he just didn't have time to continue with it. So I took it and got a delco schematic book and started trying to trace circuits. Forgive me for the vagueness, this was last fall. But I believe I found an area where it was supposed to reduce down to 6 or 8 volts and it was still at 10 volts. But there seemed to be power everywhere I tested that was supposed to have power. At that point I figured I would just have to send it away to be fixed.
What it is not doing in the car is not put any noise static through to speakers. All that happens is the dimmer light turns on in the station display.
Thanks again for your time.
