My 79 TH350 has a bolt-in rear trans frame cross member, whereas a 79 with a 4-speed uses a welded-in cross member. Could I get a cross member from an '80 or '81 that is used for both TH350 and 4-speed and bolt it into my '79 so it would accommodate the T-10 and the 4-speed shifter mount? It looks like it would work, but not sure if I might be missing something. Thanks, John in SW Michigan

You should be able to use the crossmember you have. You need this adapter mount for your 4 speed to bolt in. It bolts to your crossmember and to the trans

That does not solve the problem of installing stock shifter. There is another bracket for shifter (which I have), but no provision to mount it to the 78 TH350 cross member. It looks like it might mount to the 80-81 crossmember.

Get yourself a Hurst Competition Plus. Vastly superior to the factory shifter and it bolts directly to the transmission so you won't need the bracket.
