Default Will 78-79 rear bumper cover fit an 80?

Always liked the ACI Collectors rear wing look with the smooth fall away bumpers of 78-79, but like the 80-82 lower swooping nose better. I see 80 projects on CList all the time needing front/rear covers so i figured "how hard would it be to have the best of both"

Also, dont like the 80's front bumper conversion kit for the 78-79's with all the fender cutting etc.

So would it bolt on?

Yes, rear bumpers from 74 to 82 are all interchangeable. I'm not sure about the 5 MPH bumper under the 80 to 82 fitting with the earlier bumpers though. You can fit the 80-82 bumper over the earlier 5 MPH bumpers though.

The cover will fit and work just fine, you'll have to adapt the tail lamps to fit the bumper but it'll work.

Unusual though, most want the 80-82 bumper on the older 1979 and older cars.

I like the unique subtle ACI collectors edition rear wing, BUT looks redundant on an 80-82 with the built-in rear cover (to me). Saw a local 79 at a show with the ACI wing and it blended/looked factory so it got me thinking about doing that mod to a future 80 restomod. Also with the massive #s of 79s made, there's always good used covers for sale. I'd also pair it up with LED tails too.

Just wanted to bounce the concept with you body experts before buying one and realizing i'd need the whole bumper assembly, and this, and that, and these other things

I've never been quite normal !

Do you have a picture of what the ACI wing looks like?

- I'm one of them. Before I get the car painted, I want to get my hands on a later model rear bumper. I really don't like my '79's rear bumper at all.

If you buy an '80 and happen to drive it to Las Vegas, come on over to the house and we'll switch

Yes, I like the 80-82 rear bumper better than the 75-79 with bumperettes. I have one on the back of my 75 Vert.

I like the 74 one piece glass bumpers, I don't like the 74 seam. I think the 74 one piece with a pace car spoiler would look good.
