Default 1773 corvette aluminum alloy wheels

I have a 73 vette four speed small block, completely restores. I have the original rally wheels, then the original owner in 1974 put on the aluminum rims /wheels that were supposed to be on the 73 , the ones on the original brochure.

Anyone know what these four wheels are worth? I am planning on selling them and not sure the value, replicas go for about $850 a set.

1773 corvette aluminum alloy wheels should be priceless since aluminum wasn't even discovered until 1825..... :-)

Here's a set for sale in the C3 Parts for Sale section for $400.

The original aluminum wheels intended for 1973 were recalled and not used. GM records say as few as four sets were sold on Corvettes. The wheels were available over the counter at GM parts dealers for a while.

You will need to do a considerable amount of homework to determine whether the set you have are actual early YJ8s. The original 73 lug nuts were one year only.

Dr. Dobbins has some pics:

Value? Hard to say. They may have an interest to some buyers.
