Default 1973 Turn Signal lever

Just need some advice. I am replacing my ignition cylinder lock on my '73 C3 with tilt and telescoping. Does the signal lever just pull out with a good tug as in other gm's or is there a screw that holds it in? I tead jim sheas article but do not see the threaded hole that can be acessed on the side of the column. Anyone else run into this issue? Thanks!

The turn signal lever on a tilt column screws into the column. If you look at the flat relief in the lever, use this with a small wrench to remove it. The standard column lever had a retaining screw you could only access once you got to the turn signal switch.
