I see your (good) point.
But it is all about hobby, if you want to invest, then buy shares. It is far better.

Anything under the dash, and I'm only 5"10"ish.

I just got done putting in a tilt column and power brakes, I had everything out including the seats and replacing the fuses was killing me. I feel sorry for anyone just and inch taller than me.

Well so far the least fun has been rebuilding the parking brake. But surely there are other joys ahead that will make this pale in comparison. Famous last words, at least it can't get any worse.

Its probably the WORST (simple) task on a big block vette. Seriously...a 2 piece hose? Who the hell came up with that????
"pull off the hood, remove the radiator, drain all the fluids" That's how I did mine. I think the Chevy engineers designed this step after a three martini lunch.

Yup. I have a leak under the dash, and a bad heater core. So I pulled the whole dash. Sealing the leak, finish the Dynamat, change the booster and heater core, and anything else that looks sad. Last time for me under there. I'm 62 and 6'4", 240lbs.

Pulling the dash to work on the speedo and tach, replace the light bulbs. Comes out a lot easier than it goes back in. Chevy cut the wires sooo short.

It's funner to be doing it rather than having it done!

While I see the point I would have to say it is more fun driving it. Best would be to have a driver while you work on a second car.

yup!
Sold cars over a bad heater core lol

C3, 4 anything under the dash was dreaded..toss in bad eyesight sheesh
stuff like that Ill just pay someone to do now

As I get older the "buy it done" think appeals to me. If my back wasnt so messedup think I could still enjoy wrenching its therapeutic

If one can get past the "I built it" thing its the way to go. Pros and cons to ea but knowing every nut and bolt does give a good feeling. Its expensive!

Putting the driver side dashboard back in without popping any of its light bulbs out of their socket.
That and removing the brake booster.

Parking it, locking it, and walking away from it without looking back at it at least a couple of times.

i just changed my fuel and vapor lines and that was pretty bad. And I have no rear end or fuel tank in. I couldn't imagine how much worse it would be. I'd still be out there cursing!
Brake booster looks like it gonna be bad. Only got the lower bolts and gave up for now.

I am doing that, but have the dash out. Looking at it, I would drop the column and the column brackets, and the speedo assembly. You could get the top bolts straight in where the tach/speedo sits.

I have done pretty much everything on a Corvette. Installing a Flaming River rack with Hooker sidepipe headers, Hamberger oil pan, and VB&P Performance plus suspension and hooking it up to an Ididit tilt steering column and getting everything to fit and clear took me 30 hours of cussing and ripping my hair out. I still have to unhook the rack ujoint for the 4th time and move it a couple splines to clock the steering wheel correctly so the wheel is straight when rack is centered and the turn signals cancel right, then an alignment. I enjoy working on my car. This experience was definitely not as enjoyable as most.

Did the Booster and MC today, not as bad as I thought reading the posts but a good 4 hour job with your head on the pedals most of the time,5 minutes under the hood then back under the dash, dash and steering column in.

Remember that door spring tool you bought and thought it only had one purpose? Curves right around steering column to get the pin back in to the brake pedal.
