Default Rejet of carb??

Hey guys its about time to rebuild my carb its starting to act up and I'm not pleased with it. Still using the Stock Q-jet. Someone had mentioned about possibly rejetting when I rebuild. I have headers to a performance exhaust. Opened up a ton with the headers. Just wondering if there was jet numbers that people usually go with. If there is any info off the Carb you need let me know. Its a 75 L82

Yup, what he said^^^^. If you are not pretty familiar with a Qjet, I would not mess with it.....somewhat different from most carbs and doing it right requires some expertise. One of the reason I switched to the Qjet replacement Holley 4175 30 years ago on my 78. I recently had an issue with my Holley, oulled it off, rebuilt in the kitchen, put it back on...perfect!

There are ways to test the carb the to see if its running rich or lean. With your basic mods, if anything it may be running lean......

Well the person who will be assisting me with the rebuild has been doing it for 30 years, I wasn't worried about the rebuild at all. I was just wondering about the Jets.

Find a copy of Lars' papers. He has all the jet/rod combinations listed. Look up your carb number and find what the stock jet/rod sizes are. From there, using the data provided, make small incremental changes. Lars lists all the cross sectional areas so you'll be able to pick the proper rods/jets. All you need is a supply of rods/jets!!

Lars goes over jetting in his papers. I know that if your carb has 77 jets to leave them and do it all with the rods.

Then why are you asking here? You have been told who the experts here are, but you don't want to get it rebuilt by them or review their materials.

You want your expert to jet it, ask him...
