Default Windshield Pillar Reveal Moulding Sealant

Hi All, I need some advice choosing a sealant for the windshield pillar reveal where it seals to the steel windshield frame. And also for the hardtop side window trim where it bonds to the fiberglass. I'm assuming the same sealer will work in both places. Something that doesn't harden up over time. Thanks for any help, Rick

Hi Rick,
I believe you'll find that 3M Strip-Caulk is very similar to what was used originally on both the reveal molding and the weatherstrip retainer.
Regards,
Alan

Thanks Fellas! That looks like the perfect solution.

I use the CRL 7708 on the stainless trim that contact the steel windshield frame. And as for the track that holds the weatherstrip,.it is a closed cell foam tape is what was used.

Use the 3M strip caulk if you like...and not saying that is will not work. I prefer to use what I commented on because it is a liquid and I know for a fact that is will seal..and YES..it does thicken up slightly and never harden. And I have removed so many of these stainless trims before that I have seen bad rust due to the GM stuff seemed to not make a good seal....which is why I prefer something that I know I can apply on both parts and put together and know that they join and seal. And yes to be fair I have removed these trims and NOT seen any rust.
