Big Block, Headers, and Borgeson?
I am getting ready to pull the plug on a new Borgeson steering box for my 73 big block with factory power steering. I'm planning to run Hooker Headers and was wondering if anyone has "NOT" been able to install the Borgeson box with a similar set up? I know I may need to ding one of the header tubes, but has anyone just "NOT" been able to install the Borgeson due to any fitment issues? Thanks, Greg

I installed mine when it had 2-1/8" Hookers on Brodix heads with the ports raised .600". That pulled the tubes closer to the box, but I was actually able to "remove" a dent I had made on the #3 tube to clear the stock box.
With the twin turbos I'm using McJack's 2" shorty's and they clear fine.

This may not help as I don't know what brand headers I have (installed by previous owner). But my 2" primaries needed dinting on #3 to clear the box and a cut and realignment on #7 to clear the rag joint. Stock heads. I think my problems were the headers though as they barely cleared the stock box and needed dinting to clear the starter too! I should replace them as they are too big for my 433ci but modifying them cost nothing, so that's what I did!
As you would have picked up from every other Borgeson thread, it's definitely worth it, regardless of header concerns!

I got the 427 block with the brodix raised exhaust port heads . Jeep box and no way the jeep box fitted with the 2 1/8 th. side exit hookers as is . Major pipe reshaping done on 2 pipes .
Even with the standard port head, exhaust would be right on the box . I would not let that stop me , I have driven the same car before and after Borgeson , well worth any dramas to get it in there .

worked fine with my 454 BBC with Brodix RRO heads and hedman headers. Lots of clearance with no dimples

I used Doug's 2 1/8 primary side mount headers (D381) on my '69 Corvette with a 454 and 781 casting oval port heads. It required some slight dimpling around the Borgeson steering box, but nothing severe.
