Default A.I.R. Tube Attatchment to Exhaust Pipe

I am changing the exhaust system back to stock. I have all the smog parts and the new exhaust system with the the bracket for the A.I.R. Tube. Question is was their gasket or a sealer used to seal off the tube to the exhaust pipe? Seems like a place for exhaust an leak?
Help would be appreciated. This is an early 75 convertible.

HI I,
Welcome!
Good Question!?!

I looked in the Assembly Instruction Manual for my 71 and it doesn't appear that ORIGINALLY any sealer was used where the pipe assembly tubes mount to the exhaust manifolds.

Perhaps someone with more experience with the A.I.R. system will respond too.
Regards,
Alan

I don't think GM used anything, but personally, I would use a little bit of high temp antisieze.
