Default Replacing My Holley with a Qjet

Hi All, Just bought a correct Qjet (7029207) for my '69 L46 to replace my
600 holley. I have to now figure out what I'm going to do for a choke as
I have an Performer RPM manifold so the std divorced choke actuator
won't work. I want to replace it with an electric conversion, but all the
units that I have seen all bolt up to the original choke stove, on the
intake manifold.

Anyone got a suggestion/solution/work around for this problem?

Any help provided would be most appreciated.

Mark

For what its worth, I run a Holley 650 DP with elect choke on a Edel Perf 2101 (for now). With the air cleaner off, I can turn the key and watch the choke partially close. After warm up, its fully open and stays fully open. No choke stove was ever hooked up in nine yrs.

I rebuilt one for a friend years ago with a manual choke. It worked well but you have to find the best cold start position with the cable. I am not sure where he bought the kit but I think it was a universal one.
The electric is also an option maybe you should contact Lars. I am sure he can steer you in the right direction.

There is no electric choke conversion for the divorced choke carbs that does not bolt to the intake manifold exhaust crossover.

you also cannt bolt the Quad onto a Performer RPM without an adaptor, the RPM has only the bolt pattern for a square bore carburetor

Actually, Edelbrock is now offering a Performer RPM Q-Jet under part number 7104. But it has no provision for mounting a divorced electric choke.

Hi All, I actually have a 7101 fitted on my engine already, so it looks like I'll have to fab up a
mounting bracket. Thanks for everyone's input.

You'll need more than a bracket: You can't mount a Q-Jet on a 7101 without an adapter. Most of the adapters are about 3/4" thick, which will not fit under a stock Vette hood on a 7101.

Here is the Edelbrock note with this manifold:
"Will not clear stock Corvette hood. No provision for exhaust-heated chokes."

If you want to use the Q-Jet with minimal hassle, you might want to reconsider using the RPM manifold and go with the standard Performer with a Q-Jet bolt pattern and choke provision.

Thanks Lars, I had seen the note about this on their website, but there was no explanation as to why.
