Use the correct tool, save yourself some potential frustration. I started to say if you were anywhere near me I'd loan you one then looked at your location. For the shipping you could buy 20 of them.

On my 68 I have removed mine quite easily just by tapping on it. And it is on there nice and tight. Mine has a keyway and slot.
