I'd look at the fan connections, The fan relay contactor ( for wear and corrosion) and the size of ground wire you used with the fan. Any one of these can cause a high amperage draw. Should have a nice 12 gauge wire or so for the fan ground.
The clutch pretty much works or doesn't work. It's just a coil of wire.

I have added a better ground wire for the fan .The ac clutch seams to work fine with no noise. The fan relay maybe the problem .where do I find that one? Thanks for your help

small metal box attatched to the firewall just above and to the right (as you are facing rear of car) of your blower motor. Should have a couple of plugs into it. Look to see if they are melted or appear corroded. I found my plugs to be somewhat melted after C4 fan upgrade and replaced it with regular wire connectors. Also had to replace that relay once already.

Check the resistor out too, it might be shorting one coil after running several minutes.

The resistors play no part with fan on high, it's 12 volts directly to the fan motor via the relay. For all the other speeds the resistor comes into play.

Terry,

This may help you....

While the relay is different, the location is the same on your 82.

replaceing relay did not work .still blowing fuses.looking at the diagram that Wilcox posted[ Thank you]I think the only to other things would be fan or the fan switch or selector switch for ac or heat.

A long shot, but is it possible that the hot wire to the clutch is exposed and hitting the clutch housing creating a short. I know on my 77 the clearance there is real close.
Vibration and the fan blowing on it might wiggle it enough to cause it to short?

Are you sure the connector terminals are not corroded or the terminal inside has not opened up? I'd go to the orange wire for sure since high speed is direct to the relay. The yellow wire supplies power to 52 63 and 72... the orange wire 52 picks up high when the switch is on high and the powers up the relay switching the power feed for 65 from 101 to 2.

You might follow the orange wire and see if you can find where someone possibly hacked into it.
