Put me in the Definite Column. Please post the timing of the purchase.
Also, is this being handled in such a way that Texas purchasers can avoid paying 8%+ state sales tax? As I understand it, if a sale is made to CF or Captain Morgan for all orders and one check is cut from the buyer to Steeroids, no sales tax is due.

The list has been updated again.
flynhi:
I don't know about the timing of the purchase yet, Eric at speeddirect said that would be worked out later.
I'm also not sure about the sales tax question, but I will pass it on to Eric. However, there are a few problems with doing a single purchase.
The MAIN problem is that I don't have anywhere near enough credit on my card to pay for 10 or more people buying the kit. If we went the one purchase route, everybody would have to send me a check to cover the cost, and then I would have to send that to my credit card company to put a huge credit on my bill, and then make the payment. That would probably add at least two weeks to the purchase, if not more. Another problem with that, is most people are going to want to put this size purchase on their credit card rather than writing a check, and I'm not set up for accepting credit cards. ;)
But I'll ask Eric about the logistics, just to be sure.

Put me on the DEFINATE list.
I'd like to get it so that I can install it Thanksgiving or Christmas vacation.
It looks like we might get more than 10. If we do, will we get a better deal?????

Didn't realize they were located in Texas. That would wipe out half the discount for us.

Cap'n,
How about if those of us in Texas send you a money order and you place our orders with shipping addresses in Texas? This would mean only a couple of additional hits to yur credit card.

We'll have to see what Speed Direct says about sales tax, etc. and how shipping would be handled if I buy. Not sure if they would be able to ship to a Texas address without charging sales tax even if the billing addy is out of state. Also, shipping would definitely be delayed because I would have to recieve your money and then send the payment to my C.C. company and wait till they post it. I just put the full cost of tuition on my card and I'm waiting on G.I. Bill to reimburse me. I also bought the VBP Performance Plus so my card is maxed right now. Let's see what Eric at Speed Direct says, and then we'll go from there.
81vette:
If you think about it, you would have to pay 92.48 in sales tax at the normal price (total 1248.48), unless you ordered from JEGS (1100). But even if the sales tax would wipe out 78.64 of your discount (total 1061.64), you would still be under the JEGS price for the kit. I know, it still doesn't mean as much to you, but it's better than nothing. ;) And I did send an e-mail to Eric, just waiting to hear back from him.
Arkansas Flash:
I don't think we'll be getting any more of a discount, they're already at 15% and they need to make a bit of a profit. ;) I think they went as low as they could because I told them most people weren't going to buy if it wasn't under $999, which was the typical response in the first thread I started on this topic.

The Tx sales tax really sux for us Tx guys, but if we can't figure out method to buy through a reseller it isn't going to happen. I know that resellers can do this, because I've done it before. The trick is to find a reseller who will order from TX and drop ship thru them. Legal issues are the key in this transactions.

Arkansas Flash/John,
If the good Captain can't get this sales tax thing worked out thru Steeroids, can I make my purchase thru you to beat the taxman?
Thanks,
Will

Eric said that they can ship anywhere and not charge Texas residents the tax if someone out of state buys it. When we get ready to determine the date, you guys can send me a check and I'll send it to my credit card, and then put your orders on my card with your residence as the ship to address. Will that work?

Captain,
I have to put this on my card. I can't come up with that kind of cash in one month. How about if I buy one and have them ship it to you, and you buy one and have them ship it to me?

Clever idea but, as I understand the Texas law, If you reside in Texas and buy from a Texas business, you pay tax even if the shipoping address is out of state.
