While troubleshooting my blower motor I found that it wasn't grounded. I followed its ground wire from the blower, into a bundle, out of the bundle and then into a five wire crimp. Using a multi meter I found there is no continuity between these wires and ground. When I grounded them with an alligator clip wire to the alternator the blower motor started working.
Of the five wires I know the following:
1 goes to the blower
1 is about 5 inches long and cut off
1 is about 5 inches long and goes to a spade fitting and isn't connected to anything
3 are a complete mystery
So, I'm guessing a previous owner did something weird here so I need to know where these wires normally ground. I'm looking in the AIM for my 1981 C3 but can't follow where the ground is supposed to go. Here are some photos.
That "5 wire crimp" is the starter extension harness. If you look at the wiring diagram provided in the previous post, it's the connector just to the right of the alternator on the first page. I'd bet that the spade lug in your picture goes to the wiper motor as a ground and then the one to the bellhousing bolt is cut.

Yup, that's it exactly. Found another cut wire going to bellhousing. Connected them and the blower and my wiper work now (after connecting that spade to the empty spot on my wiper motor).
