Default C3 idle too high??

After two weeks of work, I've finally got my engine running smoothly: new seals on carburetor, new spark plugs, replaced distributor, new gaskets and seals on exhaust. Runs great, but my idle when it is cold is up around 1600 RPM and warm it is around 1300-1400 RPM. It just sounds to me that it is running high and from what I have found with a little research is that it might have to be adjusted to 900 RPM when warm. Does this sound right? I'm also having a hard time figuring out where the screw is to adjust the idle.

The cold idle speed of 1600 rpm is okay. To adjust the hot idle speed turn the hex head screw on the left side counterclockwise until it reaches about 750 rpm.

Left side of car. Assuming Quadrajet, you didn't say, look at the screw about 11:00 from the round white
bushing. If you have an Edlebrock it will be in about the same location.
