71 LT-1 ignition issue.
I changed the coil on my 71 LT-1 and now it won't start. I think it has a transistorized ignition. Can I get rid of it and replace with a Pertronix?

If it has TI ignition, the coil is different than the standard points type coil. The magnetic pickup in the distributor and the amplifier mounted on the left front of the core support will tell the tale. The factory service manual has the troubleshooting for the TI. I think the Pertronix uses the cam for the points as a rigger that is not installed on the factory TI distributor.

If it's like my 69 TI ignition, and I'm sure it is, the wrong coil will destroy the TI module. I know, I went through 2 modules until I reinstalled the correct TI coil. If your car had TI, get one of the new style modules and the correct coil.
