Default Idle stop Solenoid 78 C3

I am looking at Idle stop solenoid. As shown on Wilcox diagram for A/c Blower, relay, A/C Blo. Conn.
I am reading else where (parts suppliers) that it is used on Auto. trans. cars. NO mention of being used on Manual trans cars.

I have a 78 C3, Manual Trans, 350 / 300 with a bit of a cam. Idle speed is 1000 RPM. I am under the impression that Auto. Trans. cars run at a lower RPM, than a Manual? Y or N ?

Were Idle Stop Sol. on Manual trans cars??

an automatic in drive will run at about 700 RPM so when the AC is used the idle solenoid maintains the RPM
the manual transmission cars did not come with it.

Thanks MelWiff
After some research, playing around with the idle and mixture screws I am able to say is runs pretty good. At least I can come to a stop with out the RPMs running @ 1500. Part of the problem was old throttle return springs, not seating the butter fly valves.
Thanks for the help.

The '73 350 has an idle stop solenoid on it... as does my '73.

Good luck... GUSTO

When used in that application, the solenoid was referred to as an "anti-dieseling solenoid." Rather than raise idle to compensate for air conditioning on automatic cars, it was used to close the throttle plates upon engine shutdown to prevent run-on after shut-down. It was very effective.
