You do need to relocate the parking brake pulley bracket, but that is a simple matter of cutting it off the crossmember and rewelding it in a location such that the cable clears.

Is this enough with the 1982 crossmember?
No. There is a bracket that bolts to the frame. The transmission mount bolts to that, and the transmission bolts to the mount.

I don't see it on zip.

Here is an ebay link:

I just put the nylon pulley on the outside of my bracket then stuffed 1/2" washers between the ears. Then used a longer bolt.

How does the lockup work if you have switched 12v and ground on A & B? I read that this will allow lockup in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Surely if you accelerate at 1/3 throttle it won't lockup in 2nd and 3rd...will it? Or does it lockup in 2nd then stay locked up for the 3rd and 4th gear shifts?

I've got a '92 with 700r4 and it doesn't lockup while accelerating til I let off the gas.

I saw a video on YouTube where a guy put a vacuum switch inline with the switched 12v. Will installing that switch make it work the way I want? (lockup in 4th only if accelerating).

OK for the parking brake pulley workaround, it seems perfect.

In the pic attached by 71VetteLover, i can't see the the bracket. It's because he is using a '74 like xmember?

That is not a factory crossmember setup.
