Default HELP! I can't figure out which bolt is the main seal cap bolt!

Hello to all my awesome Corvette Forum Friends! I am replacing my oil pan on my '74, 454 Big Block, M21, convertible. I am also replacing the front and rear seals. I have removed the oil pan and dropped the idler arm. After looking at pictures, I think I also need to remove the windage tray to get to the "pump to rear" main seal cap bolt. I have tried to figure out which bolt is the "pump to rear" main seal cap bolt. DUH!? You have all helped me so much--I'm hoping you can help me again. It implies that it is only ONE bolt. Where is this BOLT???? This newbie sure appreciates all the assistance you can offer. Thanks again!

It is a single bolt in the center of your oil pump, attaching it to the rear main cap. If you see the oil pump with pick-up tube installed, it is the large head/bolt right in the center of the oil pump. Take that loose and screw it out, and your pump will drop out with it - you might have to tug or wobble the pump as it is located with a couple of dowels on the outside edges.

There's a driveshaft for the oil pump that may fall out of there too when you remove the pump. Make sure to reinstall it when going back together.

Thanks to everyone for the help! I thought I could remove it with the baffle still attached...wrong. wrong. wrong. I struggled with this silly thing until you guys gave me exactly what I needed. Success is terrific! As usual, just a bunch of nice guys and gals willing to help this newbie

It's not like changing the pan on a c3 corvette is the hardest thing in the world.
