Default The LS has arrived

Well, the 5.3L LS finally came home today. I don't have an engine hoist, so tough times call for tough measures! The motor was free so I can't complain.

Good luck with the build/install. I'm in the middle of swapping an ls3 right now. What are your plans (carb'd, trans, etc)?

Well, I would like to put a t56 behind it and change everything over to FI. It will take some time to get all the parts and get it built and even longer to get it installed since I cant fit the car in my garage. But once thisdoes go in, I want to pull the original apart and rebuild that one as well.

Good luck! I went down the same path with my '82 and I'm loving the T56. I would recommend it, it's worth it if you love manuals. Was never a big fan of the 4 speeds

Neither am I. The 4 speed is ok for driving around town but not having an OD kills me on the highway. Did you have to shorten the driveshaft when you switched to the t65? What else was involved?

Nope, with the '82 and the engine placement, I was lucky enough to reuse the driveshaft. I know most people have to have it modified.
