Real question: can you go with a one-size too big cam and "fill in the bottom end" with an exhaust system that focuses on low rpm torque? (I'm thinking something like Stan's tri-ys; tri-ys help with the low rpm torque and help lessen low rpm reversion.) -could try us help with an auto tc stall that's 500rpm too low?

I have the 270 HR w/1.6 RRs. TFS Heads, crappy RHs 2.0" 315 rwtq 280 rwhp. M/22 3:55
This runs smooth at 2200 rpm and is 300 rwtq @ 3K. It pulls real hard peaking at 4K for 315 tq and running out of air at 4900. This cam is adv to 5600? I leave it in 3/4 and press the gas to go. Need to merge, just think it and it's done. I love it! Good MPG at 2500 rpm
In a 383 w/good heads it should really haul ***. I wouldn't mind a little more off idle grunt for a daily driver or cruiser.
After Alan went w/LTHs, I'm feeling pressured to upgrade. I do want to check the full dual ex w/X pipe built in for 73 w/o smog. Should be a nice fit on my 74.
W/proper headers and ex, I'm hoping for 325 rwhp and 350 rwtq?
First change is 2.5" RH and a trip to the dyno
