Default 69 LS3/Tremec 6sp Hydraulic Clutch Question

Anyone out there have experience with addressing the installation of a hydraulic clutch to accommodate the Tremec trans hyd throw out bearing? I have a 69 Vette that I'm installing a LS3 500hp engine and Tremec Magnum 6sp trans. Thanks in advance for your input to my question!

Which Hyd TO bearing are you using. I am using the GM LS1 TO bearing on the front of my T56. It is from an 06 GTO so it was pretty easy to use this.

Not the same year or engine but the same transmission. This is my conversion from auto to manual (T56 Magnum)

Also consider a twin disc vs single, it will make it feel like a C6 transmission with a much lighter pedal. My notes I used a single disc and changed to a twin disc.

Single disc with high torque ratings is very heavy pedal feel vs better torque rating of a twin disc.

I used the 2002 Camaro hydraulic throw out. Bolted on the T56. No shinning required. LS7 flywheel and clutch.

My LS3 did 420 RWHP. Has a small cam. Never a problem with the clutch holding.

Nice easy pedal feel. Also have the speed bleeder from Tick. Makes the bleeding fool proof.

I quess I didn't do a good job of explaining my question....to clarify...what kit did you use to mount master cylinder to firewall and how did you achieve the correct angle (6 to 1 ratio) while attaching m/c rod to stock clutch arm?

My auto to manual conversion I used the

American powertrain HMGM-01201G kit,
https://www.summitracing.com/int/par...201g/overview/

and mounted in the factory location ( see my link in my post above I have pictures of the mounting)

I also reversed the safety switch and rod locations on the clutch pedal to get a better ratio. Never did get 6:1 but very close. (modified mounting on the clutch pedal)

the HMGM-01201G kit has a adjustable mounting plate to the firewall to allow for different angles required.

Thank you so much for your post....this is exactly what I was looking to include necessary details, modifications required and pictures!!! I assume my 69 will be a little easier being an original 4 speed car. Do you know if there are any differences between the trans tunnel compared to yours! Please advise!

Sorry don't know about the tunnel differences, but expect the tunnel to be narrow at the T56 tail end, since the transmission is about 5-6 inches longer. My 78 tunnel is metal so I could make a dent to expand the tunnel. If yours is fiber glass you will need to cut and repair.

I did not have to modify the tunnel in my 72. It is tight though and if you use big ujoints it might be an issue. Can't remember what size I am using but it is tight.
