Chapter 2, your car looks GREAT!! I know how excited you must be.
I took mine to a paint shop a few weeks ago that I had been waiting for 4 months to get in. Three days after dropping it off, they called and said to come pick it up because they under estimated the job and it was more then they can handle..
Now I'm on the waiting list for another Paint shop that does all of my dad's vettes, they are literally double the cost and then some but....they are a proven product, so I am biting the bullet and doing it right....$$$$$$$$
I hope to be at the stage you are at by the Fall...

Yeah, they do show quality work, which I wasn't really looking for on this car but...I'm gonna penny up and do it, at least it will be nice. I'm about to spend INSANE money to have it done though..Way more then the car is worth..
The way I look at it is, I built it exactly how I wanted it, I may as well finish it off with a bitchin paint job since I'll never sell it while I'm alive... Its only money right?..
I can't wait to see pics of yours out in the sunlight. It looks great in the flourescents. Looks like your paint shop really took care of you. I'm sub'd for your brother's LT1 progress pics.
Gonna be a bad *** Summer for you...

Hope everything goes smooth bringing the Blue LT1 home.
Is your Brothers White LT1 a 1972?

Yes, his white LT-1 is a 1972. Factory AC, leather deluxe interior, power windows, tilt/tele wheel, power brakes and power steering. Smog pump system and original 6239-1 carb is all in a box. A very nice survivor, except for the paint. The paint is as bad as I've ever seen.

The ride home from the shop was smooth as silk with a beautiful Bridgehampton Blue LT-1 following on a trailer.....
Here she is before it left the shop, with the shop owner and his right hand man. These guys are very young but man do they turn out some awesome work!
And all tucked in ready for bed at my garage.

Hi C2,
The white paint almost looks like it's making an effort to JUMP off that body!
Those 2 fellows look pretty pleased standing next to their work!!
Regards,
Alan

Hi Alan,
You are so right! Hahah....the paint is screaming to be removed.
Yeah the shop guys are very proud of their work, as they should be. It's so great to see such young guys working with their hands. Can't wait to see the white car done. This one will be in a single stage paint, not BC/cc.

Other than the paint being toast, the car is very nice. 68,000 original miles, never been apart, interior is very nice, leather, power windows, tilt/tele, power brakes and power steering. Pretty well optioned out. Original tank sticker is in a folder along with a bunch of maintenance receipts. All numbers match. It's currently running a 600 cfm Holley. The original 6239 is in a box along with the AIR system components. It runs and drives extremely well. We need to replace/rebuild the front brake calipers...they are leaking from inactivity. We'll go with the o-ring upgrade once it's back from paint. Once the paint is done, the car will be amazingly nice. We are hoping to drive it along with the blue LT-1 to Corvettes at Carlisle this August. If you are going, I'd love to meet you there!
