Can't idle off choke with new Holley Street Avenger
Well, not new. Bought a factory refurbished 670 Street Avenger from Holley
I installed everything with a new PCV, made sure everything was all good so that there's 0 vacuum leaks. I start the car and the choke runs her at 1500-2000 RPM, but the moment I blip the throttle the RPM just plumets and she stalls.
I've read a ton on tuning a Holley carb, but I don't know where to start when it comes to actually getting it to idle. Where should I be starting with this?
Engine is a 1991 C1500 350 w/ Comp XE274H (11" vacuum @ 850 rpm), Promaxx 64cc aluminum heads. CR is somewhere between 9.5:1 and 10:1. I also have a Holley fuel pressure regulator set at the stock 7psi

There is an idle screw on the linkage on the driver side of the carb. As you tighten the screw it opens the throttle. raising the idle speed. there's way more to it, but that's where you start.

There is another screw on the right side of the carb, but it's kind of buried in the choke stuff. That one is for adjusting the fast idle, and with the choke completely open, should not have any effect on RPM.

Drifting
With the choke "on" (cold engine), there is a fast idle cam that engages the throttle mechanism. As the choke releases (as the engine warms), the cam slowly lets go of the throttle mechanism until it bottoms out onto the idle screw noted above.
Turn the idle screw clockwise a bit to raise the hot idle. Let us know if that works.

the idle mixture screws could be screwed all the way in, too.

I would recommend starting with the Holley Avenger directions -
Then read here:

The second link was the first google document I found of Lars paper - there are other sources out there. As I’m sure you’ve heard this by now too - don’t fiddle too much with the carb until you’re sure you’re timing is spot on. Lars also has a paper for that as well! Once you narrow down your problem the experts (not me) can come in with very specific suggestions.
