Default 1980 C3 Corvette

Hey guys, I just inherited this beauty. The shifter has 1,2,3,N, and P. No D option, so is "3" the same as D? not sure how to even drive it sadly. it has cruise control so I'm assuming it' automatic. thanks in advance

Nice inheritance !

I am a bit biased towards 1980 though ;-)

If you don't have one, order an owner's manual. Valuable information in the owner's manual.

Hi GH,
VERY nice car to come your way!

I see it has BFG radial T/As on it.
These tires have been around for a LONG time. You might want to find out how old the set on this car is... if they're around 10+ years old they're not real safe to drive on even if their appearance is still good.
They're still being made so there are cars with new sets on them, but also cars with pretty old sets on them.
Good Luck! Nice inheritance!
Regards,
Alan

There are SO MANY great C3 rebuild books out there (search '1968-1982 Corvette' on Amazon). Key books in my library:

Shop Manual - mine is well greased from many rebuild efforts
Assembly manual (reprints on eBay)
Chilton's is 'ok' but not essential
Clymers is 'ok' but not essential

Following is a search on Corvette on Amazon:
Amazon Amazon

This is a complete resto' of a 1980 Corvette by Van Steel founder Arty Dorsett:

You don't need to know how to drive it sadly. Drive it happily!
