That cam will work great. Definitely make sure you put a mild converter in it though.... 229/241 may be a bit much for the stock converter for a smooth idle in gear.

With the right converter and that cam and some compression, it'll be a stout 454.... A great street motor.

This will work with your stock converter, and I might add it will hit it like a savage

I actually built this exact same engine using a core like the OP's. Idle was a nice 750 RPM which would work good with the stock converter, 12 inches of vacuum @ 6400 feet elevation, although the cam was 228/238 on a 111 and the carb was a 1000 AED, the piston domes were cut down for a 9.8 compression, the the specs above apply. A very nice mild engine! Looks kinda innocent.....

I tried to tell the OP he had the parts to make it happen. You don't have to have a chinesse stroker crank and rods to make power.
