Default Stress in front and rear suspension?

Figured I would put this out here....Question,back in the first week of December I bought my 73 in for some body work.....Car needs a new bumper and some minor body work on the front end near the headlight door....

Car has been up in the air on a hydraulic lift since, not much room in the shop.....My question is all four of my wheels are hanging freely, no support..With the wheels hanging like that, would that put stress on the suspension parts?

I'd be more worried about frame and body stress than suspension parts. That said I know it's not good to let the trailing arms hang for too long.

Hi zrc3,
I'm thinking pretty much the same as Brian....having the suspension 'unloaded' for this length of time isn't typically a cause for concern.
Is the frame supported in the points suggested in the Chassis Service Manual?
Regards,
Alan

I put my vette up every winter with the tires hanging down. It relaxes the springs and keeps the tires from flat spotting

same idea as a motor sitting for long periods of time. Smart people back off the rockers and relax the springs

I even put my toy hauler trailer up on stands for the winter to save the tires and springs.

I store mine on my 2 post lift every winter, no ill effects that I've seen.
