Edelbrock 2701 intake and Edelbrock AVS 1906 carby
Will the combination of an Edelbrock 2701 intake manifold mated to an Edelbrock AVS 2 1906 carburetor fit under the stock hood? The Edelbrock site states that the 2701 will not clear the stock hood. My research shows that the 2101 manifold will clear the hood - yet the size difference is only 0.2". Thanks!

I had that exact setup under the hood of my 72. It fit fine under the hood but I used a drop air cleaner and 2 inch filter.
If you are looking for these I have removed them and went back to the stock intake and Qjet carb. They are just sitting on the shelf.

As Joe79 said the 2701 will fit with a drop base air cleaner but it is very tight. You might like to look at the Weiand street warrior 8125 manifold as an option, it will give you an extra 1/4" of clearance compared to the 2701. Performance seems about the same, I have tried both on my '70 and it has a stock hood but a Quick fuel carb. FWIW with the 2701 fitted and the drop base air cleaner there was less than the recommended clearance between the carb bowl whistles and the lid of the air cleaner.
