Quite...ummm...catastrophic. The shop I ran mine at last summer had a patch on the steel shop door. The owner said an iron flywheel failed and literally punched 1/2 of the flywheel into the door.

When you run over 120 lbs of boost the explosions can be quite dramatic.

What I like is the late shots showing the crank and rods still spinning in the mains after the whole top blew off. Is that a 6BT?

I do believe they exceeded the load capacity of the engine block.

I think if they just back the timing down a couple of degrees they should be good.

Wow, that is impressive and brings new definition to 'catastrophic failure'

Sounded like a nice hi po gas engine until it blew. I own and drive a Cummings and never heard a diesel sound like that.

Obviously didn't have any auto shut-down systems on that rig...or they didn't work well.

Glad I wasn't anywhere near that test.

Thought there would be a lot more oil thrown around. Didn't appear to be much/any?

So, that's bad....right?

3 different cameras set up to capture a dyno run? Is that kinda standard practice, or is this staged?
