Default Spicer 1350 U-Joint Will Not Fit Into Spindle Flange

I am currently reassembling the rear suspension on my 1974 and I am installing the u-joints, but the u-joints will not fit into the spindle flange. The u-joints are Spicer 1350s (5-1350X). I compared them to the u-joints that were in the car before beginning the restoration and the only difference is that the 1350s are thicker by aprox .065” and shape of the journal cross is rounded vs relieved in the corners. The u-joints fit the half shafts, but the only issue is with the spindle flange. I noticed that the half shafts have been relieved at some point so that is why they fit. I think the only way to make them fit will be to grind some material off of the spindle flange, but I am not sure how much can be safely taken off. Has anyone experienced this or have any ideas? I am correct that the 1350s should fit the half shafts? I have attached some photos below. Thank you

common to find when using the spicer solid joints. Just grind in a small radius to allow the cross to fit the yoke, not a problem at all.

Thank you! I have been working on it for a few years, but progress has been slow because I have not had a lot of time to work on it since I disassembled it and got the frame powder coated. Now, I finally have more time to devote to the project and I am planning to make some major progress this year. I will be sure to post updates along the way!
