Just 3/8s steel tubing from auto parts, it came with flared ends on each side and I just cut them off and went at it. I bought the compression to 1/4 NPT fittings for the pump and compression to AN6 female for the filter regulator. BTW I had to buy the AN6 male for the feed and return and the feed to main line to unit on the filter / Reg....On the third picture from the bottom you can see where I made the connection from regulator to main line after I made my hose out of An fittings and an braided hose

I am a retired aerospace design engineer so I know about fabricating this kind of thing and you did a nice job. I will copy your design if you don't mind. One thing I might add to mine is what is called a butterfly clamp. If you have 2 lines running parallel and there is nothing to clamp them to, you take two hose clamps bolt them together with 1 bolt and that will keep them spaced apart and from vibrating or rubbing against each other.

I followed your lead on installing the same fuel regulator. I have a couple of questions;
1 how long does it take to learn?
2 on the hand held in one of the monitor screens it shows fuel pressure, what should that be reading?

As far as learning I really don't know yet since I removed the screen soon after start up to send it back for warranty work. I ve put maybe 150 miles on it and it s really running great! I can tell it performed better as I drove it more.. on your second question, like I said I didn't run it much with my hand held unit . I got it back a few weeks ago and still havent installed it yet and Im not sure I will since I don't want it as part of my interior. But I did install a inline gauge and it's reading between 59psi to just under 65psi as the needle seems to fluctuate while running only. I did observe it just during the initial prime cycle and it's pegged out at 55psi. hope that helps!

Installed a Sniper EFI in my 76 .Didn't want to mess with the fuel tank so I install a RobbMC surge tank .Nice unit easy to install .No problems with this setup so far ,have about 500 miles on the setup..Nice work on your install!

Just curious, is it just the angle the pics were taken or are the tubes really kinked at those bends to restrict flow? They don't look like they have nice mandrel bend to them. Is that brake-line tubing?

It's not the angle. But there's no restriction whatsoever. 58-62 psi at unit inlet as per gauge ! it's not brake line tubing. It's 3/8's. They carry it at local auto parts store.

Getting 58-62 PSI on the far end does not tell you if you have a flow restriction in those bends. You could use a 3/16" line and still have 58-62 PSI as long as the demand didn't exceed the flow of the line.
Be careful and verify that you have enough flow at WOT to accommodate the engine's fuel requirements.

Yeah, those bends look tighter than what you would normally be able to achieve with a tubing bender. This is coated 3/8" brake line that you can get at any parts store- I also use it for fuel lines but I personally prefer to use a mandrel bender and flare fittings vs compression fittings in these type of installations.

Thanks for the great write-up! I'm getting ready to do this on my '64. Can you add some pics showing the fuel connection at the throttle body? I'm assuming a hard line along the frame then up the firewall and then a flexible line to the throttle body?

Hi iokepaki, I'm thinking of using the RobbMC surge tank in my 76 Sniper conversion. Can you send pictures of how/where you mounted your RobbMC surge tank? Also, how did you run Sniper neg/positive battery connection wires to the battery compartment? Did you run underneath car then up to the battery compartment or did you run through firewall, through the interior and then to the battery compartment? Thanks

With the fuel pressure regulator, did you or is it necessary to add an inline filter to the EFI? Or does that system filter the return line and main line as well?
