Default Ride height measurements of a stock small block please...

Any CF members that have a stock small block out there with a stock suspension...I need a few basic measurements please!

Looking for the following:

- Top edge of center point of front bumper to the ground

- Center of front wheel well lip/the bottom edge to the ground

- Center of rear wheel well lip/the bottom edge to the ground

- Appx vertical center of mid-point of rear bumper to the ground

Thanks!
B-R

Hi BR,
It would help to know the year of your car in order to give you the dimensions from the appropriate AIM Trim Heights Sheet Chart.

For 68-72 coupes, with standard suspension, but without a/c, and with 27" tall tires which are equivalent in height to the F-70 tires originally on the car:
The front 'P' dimension is... ground to center of wheel arch....27.91".
The rear 'R' dimension is... ground to center of wheel arch...27.91".

This dimension is sensitive to how 'complete' the car is, how much gas is in the tank, and obviously also to the dimension of the tires on the car.

Regards,
Alan

Good point Alan.

The car is a '69 coupe.

Thanks!

Hi BR,
The dimensions I posted are good for a 69 coupe, std suspension, without a/c.

Alan

I have a '74 sb w/ac and it measures 27 & 7/8 both in front and rear.
235 70 15 up front and
255 60 15 in the rear

I now have Firestone tires and just noticed that they are 8 years old.

I'm not sure where to measure the front or rear bumper hight but I'm happy with the way it sits.

Hi P,
Another place to check ride height that's quite straight forward is at the front and rear of the 'appearance lin'e of the rocker trim panels.

Measure at 30.5" BACK from the center line of the FRONT spindle then measure straight down... should be about 8".
Measure at 24" FORWARD from the center line of the REAR axle....should be about 7.9".

Personally I like the 'look' to be 'slightly' down in the front.

Regards,
Alan

In this photo the front is about 3/8" low and the rear about 3/8" high.

Wheelwell lips to ground seem the most straight forward measurement point.
