Default Does Anyone Have A Shark Bar? You like??

Want to know if any of you have installed a Shark Bar to go along with your A4 Corbeau seats in a coupe. If so, how do you like it? Is it a hard install? Are you using a 4 point or 5 point harness? What harness brand are you using?

Any photos and info on this topic would be appreciated.

Thanks
Ed

I installed mine strictly for autocross. I wanted better seats and harness. The installation wasn't too bad, but the bar has some distinct disadvantages. To put the t-tops in the back, you need to slide the shoulder straps through the holes in the seat, tilt the seat back forward and ease the tops in. And there's not a whole lot of room to access the compartments. I don't know how the Corbeau setup functions, I suppose if the seat slides forward that would help but I had to bolt my Recaro to the floor so I could get some headroom with a helmet and the tops both on.

I might have a photo of just the bar, I will have to look on another computer.

Good timing on this.

I was just looking at the Sharkbar last night and wondered how well it fit.
I also need to find a good set of seats that will work with a harness too, but I don't want to stray too far from an OEM look.

I'm planning to get the sharkbar and seats from http://classiccarseats.com/ with this bracket http://classiccarseats.com/trips-harness.php. Might interest you.

I have one in my 72 convertible. It really stiffened up the tub part of the body. Lot less body shake when going over RR tracks and such. I put it in for a mount for the 5 point belts. Works well, does not hinder top going up and down either.
