Last Englishtown launch pic for my car
I checked Englishtown track photographer's pics and found this one of my car from a couple years ago. Bought the electronic version for $40 and here it is. Won't be any more pics from there since they shut down the track. Well, we still have 2 tracks left in Jersey.

Cool pic, especially given the circumstances surrounding the track. I will say this though, thanks to E-town closing, now NHRA is coming back to local to me Virginia Motorsports Park, so I'm not mad about that!

That's now become a nice keeper since the drag strip is no more.
The picture in your avatar is also from E-town isn't it?

What a great shot, Bruce! It's nice that you have a couple other places to race but it makes me sad every time I hear of a storied drag strip being put to rest. It looks like my "home" track is in it's death throes too- may not even run a regular schedule this year, although I haven't heard any news for awhile now. Anyway, it's cool that you have so much history at Englishtown.

Photo is cool . Now, if you can just get that front-end vertical motion translated to forward motion...

Thanks. That is an interesting point about front end lift vs forward motion. Obviously not something I worry about too much but, as you probably know, Pro Stock guys make a science out of directing all movement straight down the track as opposed to wasting energy and time lifting the front end.

Thanks Jim. You're right about the "air" at Etown. I think my car runs about a tenth quicker there than at Island Dragway where I usually race. Island is about 500 ft higher in elevation. However Atco Dragway is known for good conditions - but a 100 mile drive from my house.

Killer pic! Definitely one for the wall in the garage. I've always loved seeing pics of your car on the strip.
I bet you run 1 tenth quicker at Atco then E Town minimum.
Times/speeds at Atco are always insane... Rumors of "down hill" and "short track" have always lingered, not to mention -1500-2000' DA at times..... I'd do it for the slip tho...
A lot of the C7Z guys have been 10.30s-10.40s in bone stock cars at Atco, here in Houston in our winter air(-500-1000') we are good to get 10.70s out of them.

Wow nice DA!! many yrs ago always wondered what was wrong with my C4..some guys claming 13s-couldnt do better than 14s at LACR in that heap. Famoso was always a few tenths quicker its just too damn far to go & break.
