A REAL 427 starts life off as a 427 block with a 3.766" stroke crank. GM stroked the 427 block to 454 at 4.0" in '70, but the original 4.250 bore was a 427, not a 454.

If you can see it and touch it, it's real! Factory original, no, but it would be a 427 for real.
