have you actually tested the fuel pressure at the carburetor?
are you aware that the stock quadrajet has a fuel filter inside the inlet fitting on the carburetor?
rather than blindly replace plug wires, test them with an ohm meter, no more than 1k/foot of wire.

I'll run one by all you guys... we had a car with the same symptoms years ago... We'd set the timing, it'd run fine for a while, then we'd take the car out and get into it a bit.. it'd run like crap. Long story short...

The issue was the distributor shaft. The upper cam was moving on the shaft and so we'd set the timing, run the car a bit hard, pull back into the garage and the timing would be changed.... The upper portion of the main shaft was slipping on the actual main shaft.

So, I've read most of what everyone posted and they all seem like good advice. Clean out the fuel system, it makes no matter how many carbs you put on the car if there is junk going into them. Possibly change the wires, check the timing again to make sure it didn't change, and possibly change the module.

IMHO,

Willcox

Thank you corvette family!! Dropped it in, instant rubber burning. Damn! I want to say this sucker isn't stock because my butt dyno says it feels like way more than 190 hp!

I'm going to be dailying it so I'll probably do a differential oil flush and drop the tank, maybe install a new tank.

Thanks so much again corvette wizards!!!

Yep put in the ICM. That was a quick fix for sure. At least I got a lot of new parts out of all this haha.

Glad you were able to figure it out. I'd be driving the hell out of it too if I were you. 2 years of frustration would mandate that!

Me too, Jags and bmw's along with oldsmobile and chevy trucks. All the same story. Todays fuel, shelf life is much shorter, abt 3 months. And you get organic growth too, additives for different problems but not one for all, but look into K100. Add to that a tank that's 40yrs old...
Jags have two tanks, two return valves, a changeover valve, two socks, some have two pumps, and twice the vapour system in addition to the regular FI stuff. If you don't start at the tank you just chase an endless demon round and round.
